Fakenham hosted Felixstowe for this EC2 league game, the first at home since the sad loss of Craig Prior. The game was preceded by a minute of applause to commemorate his passing and the players and officials were joined by the guests at the pre match luncheon. The Fakenham players had all brought red and white roses to place on the side of the pitch in Craig's memory.
Fakenham started the game determined to give Craig' parents a win in his honour, they attacked with vigour and went close on several occasions. Three minutes into the game Mark Allen opened the scoring with a well worked try but it was not converted for the extra points (5-0). Fakenham continued
Fakenham travelled to Hadleigh to play their first game since the death of Craig Prior, Hadleigh wanted to show their respect for Craig and the club by arranging a minute of applause. Any hopes of Fakenham returning with a win in Craig's memory were dashed in the first half, Hadleigh were in good form and pressed their advantage home. The game had started well for Fakenham when they were awarded a penalty on the Hadleigh 10m line, Joe Bane-Young decided with the wind at his back he would attempt the kick. With a good strike and a helping wind he dissected the uprights to score and put the first points on the board (0-3). The Hadleigh response was quick when the inside centre ripped through the Fakenham defence and with a couple of well waited passes put the winger in for the try which was unconverted (5-3). Fakenham's defence was uncharacteristically disjointed and during the rest of the first half they conceded a further 3 unconverted tries to trail 20-3 at half time.
