"Too well loved to ever be forgotten"

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the sudden collapse and death of Craig Prior on Monday evening. Loved by all he will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with his Family at this difficult time.

Fakenham U16's v Wymondham U16's

U16's pipped at the post!

Fakenham U16's played hosts to Wymondham in their rearranged Norfolk Plate match on Sunday morning, the strong wind looking to be a factor in the kicking area of the game. Fakenham, with the wind behind them, opened the scoring with Murray running in a try, converted by Lloyd. The first half was closely contested with both sides playing to their full potential, but Wymondham did score and convert for a half time score at 7-7. Fakenham opened the scoring again in the second half after winning a line-out close to the try line and driving forwards, with Ashley scoring a try near the corner. Wymondham countered again with two further tries, one unconverted, before the home side again drove the ball for Harry to get it to ground following heavy defending from the visitors. Wymondham were keen to maintain and extend their 2 point lead and piled on the pressure which gained them another unconverted try. This looked like they had the win but Fakenham again countered with pressure on the try line before Ashley was the one to score the try. It then was left to the conversion to level the game but the wind was against them and saw the kick go just wide of the posts as the final whistle blew. Final score 22-24, a well fought and close contest.

Fakenham 14 Norwich Union 13

Last second victory for Fakenham!

Fakenham 1st hosted Norwich Union 1st for this EC2 league game with high hopes, having beaten the visitors in the reverse fixture 26th October. The game started at a fast pace but Fakenham soon found themselves being pushed back deep into their own territory and defending right from the start of the game. Norwich Union took just four minutes to breach the Fakenham line and score a try. The kick for the extra points was not on target due to some strong gusty winds (0-5). After the restart Fakenham again found themselves defending their own territory and were penalised at a ruck, the referee adjudged the Fakenham play had infringed and Union had a penalty kick which they converted to increase their lead (0-8). Fakenham were trying hard to get back into the game but some indifferent handling and dropping the ball, gave the impetus back to the opposition and Fakenham found

Spalding RUFC U16's v Fakenham RUFC U16's

Fakenham U16's had their first trip to Spaldings' Youth and training ground at Low Fulney [congratulations on finding it!]on Sunday for a rematch after a close game when the two teams previously met at Fakenham. The Fakenham side were unfortunately depleted partly due to recent injuries and Spalding kindly loaned a player to make the fifteen. Spalding were quick off the mark and scored a converted try in the first few minutes.

This provided a challenge to Fakenham which they responded to well with Lloyd scoring a try but a conversion looking into the sun was unsuccessful. Fakenham continued to have the edge in the first half,
