Fakenham 1st 7 - Thetford 1st 31

This Eastern Counties 2 league match was played at Fakenham on a glorious sunny day ideal for good handling and running rugby. Thetford started the better forcing Fakenham to defend from early on in the game. Thetford took an early lead with a converted try (0-7) but Fakenham rallied and attacked themselves with one 50 metre break by Josh Gee after some good handling around their own 22 metre area. Unfortunately Fakenham were not not tackling well and allowed Thetford to make deep runs into their 22, ultimately on one occasion the Thetford fly half made a break and scored a second try but he failed to convert (0-12). At this point one of the Fakenham players was attempting to fly hack a loose ball but at the same time a Thetford player scooped it up, Josh Gee's foot contacted the player

Norwich Thirds – 7 v Fakenham Seconds 99

This Woodfordes Norfolk Merit Table Division 3 game was an excellent example of how to play rugby with good spirit and humour and was a pleasure to watch. Norwich had definitely the better of the early encounters winning both the majority of the line-outs and scrums and enjoying the territorial advantage from the possession they gained. A mixture of good defence from Fakenham and poor handling from Norwich, however, turned the ball back over to Fakenham and their younger running backs counter attacked against the run of play to score through Steven Clay and converted by Tim Syer (0-7).
