Boxing Day 2017

Some pictures of the action on Boxing Day morning

Fakenham 2nd 66 – Thetford 2nd 0 Eastern Counties 3North

With the first team game at Swaffham called off as a result of frost (like the previous weeks game against Norwich Medics) it was with some relief that The Fakenham 2nd team game went ahead, the seconds having not had a game for a while as a result of oppositions crying off.
Thetford 2nd having had a number of high scoring wins earlier in the season were expected to put up some stern opposition for Fakenham but almost from the kick-off this was not to be the case. North Walsham 2nd XV 17 - 24 Fakenham

On Saturday the 25th November Fakenham travelled to North Walsham to play Walsham’s 2nd team in a top of the table clash.  It was to be an entertaining encounter that made it apparent why these two sides were sitting atop the league. Norwich Union were the first team to score.  Gathering the kick off and putting together a solid 10 minutes of phases using their bigger pack to run aggressively at Fakenham.  Fakenham's defense was good and held out for a long period but eventually the pressure told and Norwich Union went 1 score up, 0-7.

Fakenham regrouped and almost immediately struck back, using their own pack to drag in the Norwich Union defense and allowing space for Jordii Walker to run into a gap and through to the line and Lloyd Marshall converted 7-7.  The next score also went in Fakenham's favour very shortly after.  This time Fakenham moved the ball through short quick
