Fakenham 15 Hitchin 5

Hitchin travelled to Fakenham with 14 and the game commenced 14 a side.
It was clear after the first 10 minutes this would be an evenly matched game; both sides working hard to get that first try. It was a scrappy first half but the Foxes got a penalty in front of the posts and Sarah Wheelhouse kicked with ease getting the Foxes crucial points.
Sandier Toher returning to the Foxes for her first game of the season with a fantastic performance at Hooker, winning opposition ball and providing the Foxes with vital possession.
Half time 3-0
The Foxes settled down in the second half and played set moves and stepped up the pressure. The Foxes attacked and Hannah White smashed her way through the centre to score, Kirstie Smith converting. Captain Mandy Warren making good ground with the forwards recycling for the backs to work from and great line out work also gave the Foxes a platform to play from.
The Foxes sat back for just a moment and allowed Hitchin a breakaway try.
The Foxes concentration was now key and the side was determined not to slip up again.
A Foxes team try was added before the end the forwards won the ball and it was played down the backs line for Ange Waterson to score. The game was played in good spirit with both teams enjoying their rugby. Full Time 15 – 5.
