Fakenham hosted top of the league Diss 2nd team on Saturday, knowing that they.would have to draw on all their form of recentgames to compete with a Diss side also playing well and holding top spot in the Division. Fakenham made the ideal start, 8 minutes into the game when Vice-Captain Bob Sayer scored the opening try of the game and, with a successful conversion from Lloyd Marshall, gave the home side a 7-0 lead. Seven minutes later Diss transgressed at a ruck to give Fakenham a good chance to increase their lead Lloyd slotted the kick (10-0). The home side squandered three great chances to score tries but it looked like a breakdown in communication at crucial moments in the attack and some great defence by Diss saw all three chances go begging. Diss fought back and with some hard fair rugby played by both sides a thrilling game for spectators to watch Diss crossed to score a converted try (10-7). Fakenham were awarded a penalty 45 metres from goal and the Fakenham captain called

Fakenham travelled to Sprowston for this EC2 North league game against an improving Norwich Union side. With only three league fixtures left to decide the final league positions, Fakenham wanted to keep up their run of recent form in order to keep up the pressure on the top four, only a win would do for Fakenham. The first half saw Fakenham with the wind at their backs literally. Norwich Union showed their intent being the first out of the blocks, pressing Fakenham hard and pushing them deep into their own 22 metre area. Union had the better of the forward encounters both in the set scrum and the loose and starved Fakenham of possession, keeping the visitors pinned in their own half. Fakenham did manage to escape with some well-placed kicks and good running to move up the field of play. Fakenham pressed their advantage now into the home sides 22 metre area and, although they lost possession, they forced Union to knock

Fakenham travelled to Norwich for this EC2 North fixture in buoyant mood having had a run of nine unbeaten league games in a row. Norwich had been improving their performances and results recently under the coaching influence of ex-Fakenham player Mike Curry so the Fakenham squad was under no illusion this would be anything other than a tough fixture.
First blood went to Fakenham only 2 minutes into the game when Joe Bane-Young, the Fakenham captain, crossed the line after a swift and sure passing movement, the kick was converted by Lloyd Marshall (0-7). Fakenham were playing their rugby with freedom and expansive play and soon scored again through Thomas Bane-Young and again the conversion was good from Lloyd Marshall (0-14). The next twenty minutes saw Norwich force their way into the game and

Hoping to increase their 8 game run without a loss, Fakenham were at home to Holt 2nd who were determined to avenge their home game loss to Fakenham earlier in the season.

The game was preceded by a lunch sponsored by AOT Engineering of Fakenham, present to present the match ball were partners Richard Palmer and Kevin Anthony.
Fakenham were without the services of a number of regular players but with Tom Bane-Young and Lloyd Marshall both absent (both regular place and positional kickers) it was probable that the game would be harder to control than others of recent time. Immediately before the start there was a minute's applause in memory of Craig Prior who died almost a year ago. From the kick off it was soon apparent that this was likely to develop into a dour affair with no noticeable domination from either side as attacks from both sides were met with good defense from the opposition, the game going from

Fakenham travelled to Little Melton to play Norwich Medics in an Eastern Counties 2 North league game last Saturday and as Medics can be a difficult side to beat at home or away due the speed and power of their three quarters so Fakenham knew they would have a tough match. This proved absolutely true when Medics pressed from the kick off and forced Fakenham back into their twenty-metre area and forced two penalties within 5 minutes to lead 6-0. Fakenham responded with some good forward drives and were extremely dominant in the set scrum; it took 6 minutes for an opening to appear to get themselves on the scoreboard. A backs move launched Joe Bane Young drew the defence and a slight of hand offload to Adam Lingwood let him dive for the line and score the try. Lloyd Marshall kicked the conversion (6 – 7). The pattern of the game took on the form of a forward press for Fakenham and the Medics gaining back ground when

This rescheduled league fixture, postponed from last week due to a part frozen pitch, was a chance for Fakenham to extend their unbeaten run to six games. Broadlands have a good squad and had already beaten Fakenham in their home game and they were looking to improve their league position from third to challenge for a top two position. A good game was expected and it didn't disappoint with 50 points being scored in the game.
Fakenham started the game in fine form and scored in the first 10 minutes when Tom Bane-Young chipped over the rushing defence for George Ready to race against the Broadlands' fullback only for the unpredictable nature of a bouncing rugby ball to
